Rosemary Raven by bonegoddess Rosemary Raven by bonegoddess
One of my attempts at watercolor. I like the freedom of the medium. Some people think it's limiting but I like to play with the colors and see what happens. I suppose you could accuse me of not taking it seriously, but how am I supposed to learn if I'm too critical from the very beginning?

So this one has my favorite things: ravens, rosemary, stone circles, crescent moons, and hearts on fire.

Some strange life you bring to the animals you draw. I like it, it's rare.

I'd like to know what you used in the sky too =) Was is salt? I've just bought watercolors and I want to try it. You did great. I specially like the rosemary, tho I like all the elements you've put on this.

Watercolour is my favourite art medium, I love how experimental you can be with it.

Gorgeous use of colours, especially how the back of the raven fades off into the sky.

Ooooh, this is beautiful! Quite a bit different from your usual style. And you're right, freedom is something that comes with the whole watercolor package. Nice work!

It feels good to be able to draw what you want, the way you want it - doesn't it. :blackrose:

:whisper: Now featured in a dA news article presenting pairs of artworks with a certain similarity between them, such that are otherwise created completely independantly from each other: [link]

It looks like you have a good grasp of the medium already to produce something as nicely painted as this :)
